Australia were 154 for five and extended their lead to 486 runs at lunch on day four of the fourth Test against India.
Resuming their second innings at 50 for three, Australia made 104 in the session at the loss of captain Michael Clarke (37) and Mike Hussey (15).
Ricky Ponting continued to show good form with his unbeaten 57-run stay at the crease and was joined by Brad Haddin (1). Umesh Yadav (1/23) and Ishant Sharma (1/25) were the wicket takers.
Australia are expected to declare anytime after lunch and India will have to bat out of their skins to save the match.
