A video showing Australian bowler Brett Lee stating that he is playing with his broken toe.

Lee revealed on Thursday that he came back to the field much ahead than the prescribed date.

Lee broke his toe during Australia's Twenty20 clash against India at the MCG early last month.

The 35-year-old has also been included in Australia's one-day and Twenty20 squads to tour the West Indies.

Lee returned against Sri Lanka at the SCG two weeks ago, but said the injury was still painful.

The paceman was originally expected to be out of action for between four and six weeks.

"It is still broken. I had an X-ray yesterday and the show must go on," Lee said.

"You have got to do these things when you are playing for your country. It has been very painful, but I've certainly come back a lot earlier than I should of. But you have to do that when you are playing for your country."

While on Friday, Australia will take on Sri Lanka at the MCG in the final one-day clash of the series before Sunday's first final at the Gabba.
