A brilliant knock by Manoj Tiwary steered India A to 369 for 9 wickets against England on day one of the first warm-up match at Brabourne stadium in Mumbai.

Even Yuvraj SinghAbhinav Mukund and Irfan Pathan shined with the bat. Yuvraj scored 59 and looked impressive, whereas Mukund set up the momentum for the home team.

Pathan, along with Tiwary added 110 runs for the seventh wicket partnership. He missed the half-century by a whisker, scoring 46 runs.

India A skipper Suresh Raina won the toss on Tuesday and elected to bat against the visitors. Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan took three wickets each.

Bresnan missed a hat-trick opportunity when he removed Manoj Tiwary and Ashok Dinda on consecutive balls which were however averted by Parvinder Awana.
