A top BCCI official has conceded that a Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Delhi was played under lights in Gwalior way back in April 1997, wherein the bowlers struggled due to heavy evening dew and frequent changes of the white ball.

BCCI's Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty said, and I quote, "We were the first to experiment with this and our experience was not so great. At this stage we have no such proposal." .
