Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade who scored 62 runs and put on a 145-run stand with skipperMichael Clarke for the fifth wicket, spoke about the partnership after first day’s play of the second Test against India at Hyderabad.

Wade had injured his left cheek bone ahead of the match and there were doubts about his availability. But the Southpaw said, “There was no doubt that I would play. I just had to make sure that my eye didn’t close. When I woke up today in the morning, I had a look in the mirror and I could see properly. So, I said I’ll play.”

He was lucky to survive a stumping chance but was dismissed right after, giving a catch to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
