A video of Pawan Negi press conference after Delhi Daredevils win over Rajasthan Royals.
Young left arm spinner Pawan Negi bowled the best spell of his short career as Delhi Daredevils outclassed the home team Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets.
The 19 year old Delhi lad had brilliant figures of four for 18 as he ran through the Royals top order after the home team were off to blazing start. Negi Left thanked his skipper Sehwag for his brilliant performance whose advice helped him in his stupendous performance
"I was just trying to stop the flow of runs. It was a good wicket and they (Rajasthan batsmen) played a few bad shots too. The wicket of (Shane) Watson was the prized one because he is such a good player," said Negi who also accounted for the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Brad Hodge and Ashok Menaria apart from Watson.
Asked to bowl after six overs with Rajasthan comfortably placed at 56 for no loss, Negi ripped apart the home team's batting line-up to restrict them to a modest 141 for six.
Asked whether skipper Virender Sehwag gave him any specific instruction before coming on to bowl, Negi said, "He (Sehwag) told me that Rajasthan batsmen play a lot of inside out shots over extra cover. So he asked me to keep balls a bit short so as to not allow them to go for such shots. This worked to perfection."
