Subsequent to the victory of Yorkshire in the County Championship after a hiatus of 13 years, Sandipan Banerjee finds out the complete list of County Championship and its’ winners since 1890.
A wait of 13 years was finally ended for Yorkshire on Friday as they beat Nottinghamshire by an innings and 152 runs and became the English county champions for 2014. The County Championship is, as is common knowledge, the premier domestic tournament of England.
The Championship had started in 1890, and has been played every year barring ten: 1915 to 1918 (due to World War I) and 1940 to 1945 (due to World War II).
