Top-order: The best thing about the Gujarat Lions line-up is their top-order. The line-up starts with two big names- Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum. Both the players have been in a very good form and performed consistently in the last few matches. McCullum is one of the bests when limited-overs cricket is concerned and he maintained the form in this year’s IPL as well, proving to be one of the key players for the Gujarat Lions batting. Dwayne Smith, on the other side, anchors the innings to help the player go with his usual flow. At number three, comes out Suresh Raina, who is is one of the most successful names in Twenty20 (T20) cricket.
Middle-order: The never ending batting goes on to the middle-order as they have experienced Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Bravo. Karthik is capable of playing sensible knocks while Dwayne Bravo is known for his free hitting. Ravindra Jadeja comes following the two, who is equally capable of playing a match-winning knock. For further hitting, there is James Faulkner and India under-19 captain Ishan Kishan. Though the later has not shone yet so far, the talented batsman can fire anytime.
Bowlers: The bowling attack acts as a unit to get the desired success. Praveen Kumar is one very important element of the team looking at his experience. James Faulkner will be the perfect person to compliment Praveen Kumar while Dwayne Bravo has been exceptionally good. Dhawal Kulkarni has also been very good. The spin attack also looks good with Ravindra Jadeja leading the charge. Skipper Raina might also want to give Shivil Kaushik another chance to prove his mettle.
