Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 on May 2. Chennai sit in second position in the IPL 7 Points Table while Kolkata are in fourth place. Pt. Anil Chaubey makes the predictions for the CSK vs KKR match.

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost their first match in the IPL 2014, but have since gone on a four-match winning run. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won two and lost three matches so far in IPL 7. Gautam Gambhir will be hoping to make it three wins after the sixth match. The two teams play at Ranchi and this is a designated home match for Chennai. Dhoni will be playing in front of his home fans.

Key Players: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. As expected, Dhoni is a very important player for Chennai. As a leader and a top batsman, he is crucial to Chennai’s success. Raina is the leading run-scorer in the IPL, so, it goes without saying that his runs are very important for Chennai. Jadeja is another who has been a vital cog in Chennai’s line-up since last season. Jacques Kallis, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa. Kallis is arguably the best all-rounder in modern times. He should play a big part for Kolkata. Pandey has impressed for KKR so far and should continue his good form. Uthappa has also been in good form and should step up against formidable Chennai.

Who will win: Chennai Super Kings will make it five in-a-row in the IPL 7. Kolkata Knight Riders, who lost against Rajasthan Royals in a Super Over, will not be able to turn their fortunes. This would mean Chennai will remain at the top-end of the IPL 7 Points Table. Kolkata will remain in the middle.
