Khurram Khan, the skipper of United Arab Emirates (UAE) achieved a nice little achievement on Friday, when his team played an One-Day International against Afghanistan in Dubai. Khurram is now the seventh oldest captain in international cricket to lead his team. During the first ODI between UAE and Afghanistan on November 28, Khurram was 43 years and 160 days old and he celebrated this feat with a famous victory.

WG Grace still tops the list of the oldest leaders in a cricket field. The English legend led his team at the age of 50 years and 320 days against Australia at Trent Bridge on June 1, 1899. That was the last Test of his career. In modern day cricket, it will be tough for any one to beat his record. Another Englishman, Gubby Allen is placed second in the list. At the age of 45 years and 245 days he led England against West Indies at Sabina Park on March 27, 1948. The third place is also occupied by an England captain, Norman Gifford, who was 44 years and 361 days old when he captained the three lions in an ODI against Pakistan at Sharjah on March 26, 1985.
