The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a global rage — including in India. Tennis stars Rohan Bopanna, Sania Mirza and badminton player Ashwini Ponappa have already taken the Ice Bucket Challenge. However, the latest news is that Lalit Modi has nominated N Srinivasan to take the Ice Bucket Challenge. Modi himself was nominated by Chris Cairns.
While accepting Cairns challenge, Modi said, “I nominate N Srinivasan, Sanjay Patel and all the members in the IPL committee to take the Ice Bucket Challenge within 24 hours.”
It’s yet to be officially confirmed whether Srinivasan will accept the challenge or give $100 in charity and turn down the request. However, sources close to Srinivasan inform CricketCountry that he is indeed planning to accept the challenge. Apparently, his first reaction was, “I’m not going to be rail-roaded by anybody!”
Going by the pool of troubles around him, Srinivasan is still looking for the right person to pour the bucket full of Ice on him. “Ravi Shastri may be specially flown back from London to pour a bucket full of ice water to ensure that all goes well,” revealed the source.
In response, Srinivasan is planning to nominate MS Dhoni and Justice Mudgal for the Ice Bucket Challenge. According to Shastri, “MS will be accepting Mr Srinivasan’s challenge because it is right in his slot. Don’t forget that he is Captain Cool!”
While this challenge by Modi is in itself is a huge development, there are rumours that Dhoni is also planning to nominate James Anderson and Ravindra Jadeja to take the Ice Bucket Challenge!
