As Prosper Utseya becomes 2nd Zimbabwean after Eddo Brandes to take hat-trick in One Day International cricket (ODI) cricket, Sandipan Banerjee finds out more about ODIs hat-tricks.

Prosper Utseya, the Zimbabwean off-spinners created history in the third ODI against South Africa on Friday when he became the second cricketer from his country to take an ODI hat-trick. Utseya removed Quinton De Kock, Rilee Russouw and David Miller in consecutive balls in the 27th over and changed the game completely. Eddo Brandes is the other Zimbabwe bowler to achieve this success in the history of 50 over’s cricket. His hat-trick was against England in 1997 at Harare.
