Rising Pune Supergiants take on the pumped up Mumbai Indians in match 29 of the Indian Premier League at Pune on Sunday. RPS and MI locked horns in the in the inaugural game of this edition in which the former marked their presence with a valiant performance in Mumbai. MI have been very unpredictable in the tournament so far, with four wins and as many losses in eight encounters in the tournament. Top order: MI skipper Rohit Sharma has done a commendable job for the side in the recent times; he looked in pristine touch in the previous game where he carried his team over the line with a determined knock. Parthiv Patel on the other hand will have to step up and make substantial contribution to compliment Rohit. Rayudu will shoulder the number three responsibility for MI and has done a decent job in the previous matches. MI’s top-order look formidable with an in form Rohit the team will be hoping him to get some quick runs consistently at the top.
Middle Order: MI middle-order hails of Jos Buttler, Kieron Pollard, Hardik and Krunal Pandya. Their middle-order wears a dominant look with an on song Pollard who fired with all guns in the previous game. Although Buttler has been a bit rusty but he’s a match winner and will look to regain his form in this game. Krunal has been impressive in his sporadic appearances so far and will be the man to watch out for. Hardik is yet to do anything of substance; his run has been poor in the league so far and need to do something significant in order to save his place in the team.
Lower Order: MI possess a strong batting unit and one of the best pace attack in the tournament. Their pace battery hails of Mitchell McClenaghan, Tim Southee and JAsprit Bumrah. McClenaghan is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far whereas Southee has managed to get the much needed breakthroughs in the middle. Bumrah has been instrumental in restricting the flow of runs in the death which holds massive importance in a game like T20. Harbhajan Singh will lead the spin attack and has done a tremendous job with his experience and guile. He will get support from Krunal with his left-arm spin.
