Sachin Tendulkar burst on to the scene as a 15-year old in Indian domestic cricket and hit a ton on his Ranji Trophy debut for Bombay (As Mumbai was called then). Lalchand Rajput, the former India batsman was the captain of that Bombay team and watched the teenaged Tendulkar complete his first milestone in official cricket.
Not only that, Rajput later worked with Tendulkar during his stint as the cricket manager of the Indian team. Having seen Tendulkar from close quarters all these years, Rajput presents an interesting insight into what makes the maestro the champion that he is.
Rajput says that if you leave the cricketing aspect aside and look at Tendulkar’s exemplary demeanour, that itself tells you a lot. Tendulkar has been a true gentleman and has conducted himself very well despite the stardom.
Tendulkar hasn’t let success get to his head and has been focused on his cricket throughout his long playing career. But, there is a lot more that goes into making of a champion. Watch this video to find out more.
