Younis Khan has put together his formidable All-Time XI. Though his team is laden with all-rounders, the side is incredibly strong on all departments. Sachin Tendulkar does not find his preferred No.4 slot in his West Indian dominated middle-order and as a result he is pushed to open.

Younis will open with the two Little Masters, Hanif Mohammad and Sachin Tendulkar. At No.3, he has Jacques Kallis, whom he rates the “greatest all-rounder”. Then comes the Caribbean flavour to his side with the Prince, King and the greatest of them all to follow. Brian Lara is at No.4, followed by Viv Richards and then he has Garry Sobers at No.6.

There still won’t be any respite for bowlers as Adam Gilchrist follows at No.7, followed by his personal “favourite” Imran Khan at 8 and Richard Hadlee at 9. The only two specialist bowlers in his side are Glenn McGrath and Muttiah Muralitharan. Interestingly, there is no place for the legendary Shane Warne.

The selections are based on the players he has watched play, or played with or against.

Here’s Younis explaining in the video posted by Lord’s Cricket Ground.
