Shruti Chopra dwells into her tarot cards to see what lies ahead in the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup game on Tuesday.

India

India will not look to be over aggressive; instead, they believe their confidence and command over the game will allow them to be successful. The Ace of Cups and the High Priestess are reflective of the team’s ability to assess the situation and adapt themselves accordingly. They will need to be watchful of an expensive start with the ball and a weak end in their fielding. Taking risks on the field will prove to be beneficial as well. As claimed by the Three of Cups, India overall will play with more ease and confidence.

Despite certain insecurities plaguing his mind, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will develop his mental strength and display strong captaincy. The Four of Cups and the Fool present him enjoying his batting and will do so without relative pressure.

Key players

Virender Sehwag will play a clever innings and will overcome challenges thrown by the opposition. His ability to adapt is represented by the Queen of Wands and the Moon.

Virat Kohli is going to be steady. The Page of Pentacles shows him making best use of this opportunity and cementing his skills further.

Yuvraj Singh will display qualities of the Magician – steady, adaptable and smart. Despite some expected discomforts, he will have a good day all round.

Irfan Pathan will be comfortable in his role and will execute plans well, even though he may appear wayward at times.

Zaheer Khan will start off with too many plans and variations, but with the Justice card drawn, he will balance himself well and be effective.

South Africa

As a team, South Africa will appear strong and well balanced, but their mind set reflects something very different. The Three of Swords shows their lack of belief in their plans. This is also supported by the Seven of Swords, where even the team management will seem uncertain of this. There will be some strong partnerships coming through in bowling and batting. Weaknesses will lie with their  fielding, which will come under some scrutiny as reflected by the Ten of Wands.

AB de Villiers will look to use his experience and allow his captaincy to be more effective. Despite such attempts, he will not be able to channelise enough aggression and will therefore display soft captaincy. Batting will be easier as the Fool and Seven of Wands allows him to feel more comfortable and carefree.

Key players

Jacques Kallis will show immense promise and will deliver up to a point, only to battle further problems. With the combination of the Star and the Ten of Swords – it shows a tough day for him.

Robin Peterson will play wisely all-round. He has the determination of the Two of Wands and the sensibilities of the Hermit.

Johan Botha will be economical, but not entirely effective with the ball. The Four of Swords shows him to be tired, but yet encourages him to deal with the situation head on.

Morne Morkel will stick to his plans and bowl well today. Results will come his way, since he will adapt himself well.

Dale Steyn will not have the best start as the Four of Swords suggests being under pressure, but he will overcome this and bowl with good rhythm.

Who will win?

India.
