Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils game – the first of the two IPL matches on Saturday.
The Kings XI are feeling positive and looking to fight through well thought out, aggressive planning. The Queen of Swords along with the Chariot reflect their ability to charge at the opposition. They will manage to show their positivity despite them secretly feeling that something special will be required off them. They will enjoy this challenge and relish the idea of shaking up the opposition.
Adam Gilchrist will have a lot to handle. The Eight of Wands shows his ability to handle it all and deal with the unexpected with ease. This is exactly how his batting will be – aggressive and steady like the Star. As a captain, he will look to take risks and pull out interesting ploys against the opposition. He will adapt himself well and will enjoy leading the team.
David Hussey is looking to build his innings surely and confidently. The Page of Pentacles, shows he will have a stable innings.
Nitin Saini will have a good day. He will be well planned, energetic and will show a strong batting display. An important innings should be seen from him.
Azhar Mahmood, like the Fool, will look to take risks and will find himself doing well in partnerships. A stable all-round performance.
Piyush Chawla has worked out some encouraging plans and is advised to stick with them as they, like the Three of Cups, will bring him success.
Praveen Kumar will bowl with the right balance and like the Devil, he will tempt the batsman into wicket taking shots. A good day for him.
Parvinder Awana has all the tools to be a successful bowler. His bowling will be precise and bring with it rewards. A good day for him which, like the Nine of Cups, will leave him contented.
The Delhi Daredevils will need to address their weaknesses before it plaques them in the tournament further. They will look to be like the Hermit and carry out some wise decisions but should be careful of experimenting. The Tower card does show this to be a tougher game, despite good all round performances and the willingness from the team to work hard.
Virender Sehwag will play a strong innings. He will need to be more watchful, especially since he will be like the Five of Wands, where aggression will need to be better channelised. He should play today and stick to being captain. Looking to rest will not bring with it the right team stability as suggested by the Ten of Swords. In this game, he will have a tough day, but will look forward to leading and adapting his captaining style.
Mahela Jayawardene, like the Seven of Wands, is looking to get a hold of his innings and command it. The concern will be theTwo of Pentacles, which shows him spending too much time creating balance in his innings rather than being aggressive.
David Warner will look to score some big runs, but not before overcoming his repetitive problems. He will need to address this, otherwise it will hinder his batting.
Irfan Pathan will be adaptable and wise. He will build a good all round performance.
Morne Morkel will have a good start, but successes won't be easy. It won't come without the hard work seen from the Eight of Pentacles.
Varun Aaron, like the Ace of Cups will have a good day. He will have many ideas and will look to implement just about all of them. He will receive success.
Umesh Yadav will have a tough start, but will learn from this quickly. He will finish with a good day, especially through some good bowling partnerships.
