The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the Board President’s XI and India A squads to take on Australia in two-warm up matches ahead of the four-match Test series.
Tamil Nadu and India opener Abhinav Mukund will lead the Board President’s XI side, while Delhi’s Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain of the India A side, the board announced on its website.
Punjab batsman Jiwanjyot Singh, who was their prolific run-scorer in the recently-concluded Ranji Trophy 2012-13 has been included in the India A side.
Mumbai bowler Dhawal Kulkarni, who bagged nine wickets in the Ranji Trophy final against Saurashtra, is also a part of the India A squad.
On the other hand, India seamer Mohammad Shami Ahmed, who impressed in the ODI series against England, is a part of the Board President’s XI along with Saurashtra’s Kamlesh Makwana, ’s Parvinder Awana and Jammu and Kashmir’s Parvez Rassol.
The Board President’s XI will take on Australia in a two-day game, to be played at Chennai on from February 12-13, 2013.
The Australian side will have their second tour game against India A at Chennai from February 16-18, 2013.
