Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi slammed Indian captain MS Dhoni’s captaincy after India’s Test series defeat to England.
Bedi was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, “He was never a Test skipper. He is far too negative, especially while setting fields. His success had a lot to do with providence.”
Bedi further added that it is right time to throw the challenge of leadership to promising cricketer Virat Kohli. He said, “It is time to throw Kohli into the deep end.”
Bedi was also critical of Indian spinners, whom he felt were under-prepared for the series. He said, "They look more like four-over bowlers. How many of them have been bowling 40-45 overs in Ranji Trophy? That is where you hone the skills."
