Glenn Maxwell’s knock of 42 helped Hampshire reach a score of 143 for eight against Sialkot Stallions in their Champions League Twenty20 tournament’s qualifying match on Thursday.
The Hampshire batsmen struggled against a disciplined bowling attack of the Pakistan side, which was led by Umair Asif with two wickets.
The toss was won by Sialkot skipper Shoaib Malik, who opted to field at the Wanderers Stadium.
Maxwell scored a rapid knock of 42, which came off 29 balls, studded with four boundaries and three sixes.
