Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore game - the only IPL match on Monday.
Rajasthan Royals are coming into this match feeling encouraged and positive, despite their last-ball loss against Chennai. The Ace of Wands and the High Priestess explain that as a team and management, they have worked on their problems and are ready to make some changes. They will need to be careful of displaying a weak batting performance, as some of their previous flaws will be the difference between winning and losing; especially since they're looking nervous towards the end.
Rahul Dravid will be able to dominate and be a worry for the opposition. It will be a strong batting day and an opportunity to show the way for his team. As a captain, he will be strong, balanced and will be able to bring about key changes.
Ajinkya Rahane will be like the Ten of Wand; he will initially feel the pressure, but will be able to pull through into playing in a good partnership.
Ashok Menaria will be a slow starter but will be able to pull himself out and play a quick, aggressive innings in a partnership.
Brad Hodge will have a stable start. The Queen of Wands clearly shows his attacking intent; he will change his game when required.
Brad Hogg will have some very good bowling spells, but with the Hanged Man coming up, there will be a delay in getting the required results.
Owais Shah will need to apply himself, especially since he has too many ideas floating around. He will be able to focus better and provide the right type of support.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore are looking to make changes which may ease a lot of the burden being carried by the team. Despite overall strength, they do feel that they are playing with an incomplete team - the skills present and results required from individuals aren't being matched. For today, they will have strong self-belief and play a balanced game, like the Chariot – strong, commanding and heading towards victory. They will be able to change around their mental stresses into important gains.
Daniel Vettori as a bowler, has a lot of expectations of himself and is working on fulfilling those. With the Death card and the Page of Cups, he will be able to make necessary changes, but will need to be more realistic about fulfilling those expectations. Vettori is finally beginning to grow in confidence with his captaincy, which will be much needed if he is to challenge Rajasthan Royals.
Virat Kohli is looking uncomfortable and misdirected in his focus. The Five of Swords confirms the battle in his mind, which he will find hard to overcome today. The Ten of Cups does reassure of immense team-management support.
Chris Gayle will start off batting freely, but with the Hermit there, he won't take unnecessary risks.
AB de Villiers is very involved with the team and what the team will require from him today. He will go out to play a steady yet dominant innings.
Zaheer Khan is well planned today, because of which he should be consistent and attacking.
Mayank Agarwal will start off playing a carefree innings, but with the Hierophant in his cards, he will grow in confidence and then stabilise his innings into a mature batting display. He shows good promise today.
Who has the advantage?
Two strong captains, but as a team Rajasthan Royals are looking weaker. It's advantage Royal Challengers Bangalore.
