Hosts DY Patil 'A' rode on Goa Ranji Trophy batsman Swapnil Asnodkar's swashbuckling 80 to defeat Tata Sports Club by seven runs and enter the final of the Rs 12-lakh prize money T20 tournament where they will meet India Cements.
Asnodkar struck four sixes and eight fours in his blitz, adding 107 runs with Shrideep Mangela (40) and helped the hosts pile up 171 for 5 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
In reply, Tata SC made 164 for 7.
Chennai's India Cements won the other semifinal against Reliance One by 58 runs.
Former India ODI player Hemang Badani played the saviour's role for India Cements by coming in at number five to steady the boat after the loss of early wickets.
Badani scored an unbeaten 62 and had valuable partnerships of 24 runs each with Suresh Kumar and Shiva Kumar.
Reliance One's fightback ran into rough weather with medium pacer V Arun Kumar taking 4 for 23 and Yo Mahesh 2 for 15.(PTI)
