Deccan Chargers (DC) have set a target of 191 runs against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at Mohali.
Winning the toss, Deccan elected to bat on a batting-friendly wicket. The openers justified the decision as they were involved in a 47-run partnership before Parthiv Patel was dismissed for 19 runs by Azhar Mahmood in the sixth over.
Shikhar Dhawan, however continued playing good strokes as he further consolidated the innings with a 96-run partnership with Cameron White for the third wicket.
Dhawan's departure in the 17th over did not put brake on Deccan's scoring rate as Daniel Christian along with White powered Deccan's total to 190 with the help of a valiant 44-run partnership in the death overs.
