Delhi: May 7, 2012

Delhi Daredevils (DD) have been restricted to a score of 153 runs in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers put on a disciplined effort at at Ferozshah Kotla.

Earlier Delhi having won the toss got off a blistering start in first three overs as skipper Virender Sehwag scored at a brisk pace but all-rounder Jacques Kallis provided a crucial blow to Kolkata as he removed the opener for 23 runs in the fourth over.

Replacing Kevin Pietersen, Australian opener David Warner too looked in fine touch but even he became Kallis’ prey as he was dismissed caught behind for 21 runs in the sixth over.

In the middle overs, Mahela Jayawardene and Ross Taylor attempted to stitch a healthy partnership but their duet could not contribute to Delhi’s scoreboard further as  Jayawardene was run out in the 13th over, ending their 46-run partnership. The Sri Lankan captain scored 30 runs.

Later in death overs, some lusty blows by Irfan Pathan ensured Delhi reach a  respectable total.
