England’s opening batsman Alastair Cook remained tight-lipped when faced with questions regarding Kevin Pietersen’s future following the latter's omission from the squad for the third Test against South Africa.
However, the controversial batsman was dropped by the England's selectors on Sunday.
England's selectors made their decision to axe Pietersen following reports he sent text messages to several South Africa players during the second Test at Headingley that were believed to contain derogatory comments about English captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.
“What happens in our dressing room stays in our dressing room. Look, we have a very important game we need to win to try and stay No1.”
Pietersen is already retired from the limited overs international cricket.
