England captain Alastair Cook wins toss and elect to bat first in the final One-Day International against South Africa at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
England leads the series 2-1 against South Africa and will retain the number one position in ODI rankings irrespective of the result of the final match.
Chasing a modest total of 221 to win, England scored 224 for four from 46.4 overs.
Bell scored a fluent 88 off 137 balls hitting one six and eight boundaries to lead England’s reply.
Bell added 104 runs for the second wicket with Jonathan Trott to lead England’s recovery after they lost Alastair Cook early on.
