Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Delhi Daredevils vs Pune Warriors India game - the second of the two IPL matches on Saturday.
Complacency may lead to unnecessary problems for the Delhi Daredevils. They have the potential to win this game, but it may not be that smooth, since they can get too carefree and put themselves in a tough position. On a positive side, they will play well in partnerships; bowling, batting and fielding. Like the Death and High Priestess card suggest, they have the ability to change their failing momentum into unseen potential. Good planning and their unpredictable nature in today's match should keep the opposition on their toes.
Virender Sehwag will work very hard on playing a level-headed innings. With the Page of Wands and Justice card by his side, he will constantly strive to build a strong innings. Maintaining this mindset might be too difficult for him, but he will work on it. As a captain, he will be active in pushing for ideas and for that win. He will make strong decisions and will enjoy the challenge thrown by the Pune Warriors.
Kevin Pietersen will relish the idea of taking on the Pune bowlers. He will play a strong innings and will be part of some important partnerships. He may come under some pressure and may not be able to see his team's innings through.
Mahela Jayawardene is coming out with better focus and an improved game plan for his batting. He is itching to make some runs and should do so today.
Irfan Pathan has the Star and the Four of Wands – this is a very encouraging sign, as it shows his ability to help recover the team from uncomfortable positions and provide the team with stability.
Shahbaz Nadeem is looking to create balance and success by being proactive through good planning.
Ross Taylor will be like the Kings of Wands, strong, active and adaptable to the game's situation.
Morne Morkel will be aggressive and will fight hard to get success, which will definitely come his way.
Umesh Yadav will be strong-headed, attacking and very well directed. He holds immense potential to play an important role in this game.
Pune Warriors India
The Pune Warriors are looking nervous and under-confident about their plans. This feeling may not last too long, instead, like the Strength card, they have the potential to grab on to Delhi's weaknesses and dominate. They will be able to build themselves up as the match progresses and have the ability to just bloom in confidence. As a team, they're being represented by the Chariot – the one who is balanced, strong and is charging towards victory, but like mentioned earlier, they will need to be cautious of Delhi's ability to spring out their hidden potential.
Sourav Ganguly should play a dominant game with the bat. He will know how and when to accelerate and will thrive in this challenge. As a captain, he will be independent and strong. He will be ready to understand the minute changes needed to get that edge over Delhi.
Steve Smith will be hard working and should be given more of an opportunity to showcase his potential today as he has the ability to deliver.
Robin Uthappa will play well in a partnership and should be strong. He will receive success through playing a mature game.
Jesse Ryder will do well by building a strong platform for the team. His innings will be very important.
Angelo Mathews will start off nervously, but luckily for him, it won't last that long and will be able to shift gears and attack. He may do well with the bat if needed.
Ashish Nehra will need to direct his energy better and stick to doing the basics right, otherwise there is a concern of him losing his direction. With the Eight of Wands, he should be encouraged that success will come his way.
Rahul Sharma may not have the best start, but he will come back well and be able to do some damage to the opposition.
Marlon Samuels will go through some odd phases of looking brilliant at one point, dipping in performance only to strongly come back again.
Who has the advantage?
Delhi's ability to keep rising from difficult situations gives them the edge over Pune Warriors. It's advantage Delhi Daredevils!
