Former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath is pleased with the new-look Australian pace attack. He feels Australia has the right talent to carry forward the pace attack of the team.
McGrath was quoted in Herald Sun as saying, "I've been very impressed with James Pattinson, along with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.”
The legendary fast bowler said, “It’s an exciting time for Australian cricket with these young bowlers coming through. They are bowling at good pace, hitting good areas.
"They look big and strong, you look at James Pattinson and he is strong. It's unlucky for Pat Cummins that he is out for a little while."
Australia leading One-Day International wicket taker, McGrath believes the best way to groom the young talent in the team is to make them play more matches.
He said,”That’s the key to it - keep them fit, keep them strong and keep them on the paddock and performing well. They have got off to a great start.
"You need to work on your fitness off the field, get as strong and fit as possible, but nothing compares to match fitness.
"It's getting out there and bowling in a game. I was the type of bowler who just wanted to bowl all day, every day.
"The more I bowled, the better I felt. It's just about the young fellas getting to know how they work.
"Some work better the more they bowl, others have to be nursed through it a bit. It's up to the guys behind the scenes to work out what is best."
