An inspired performance by England off spinner Graeme Swann helped England restrict Pakistan to 144 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in first T20international at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Swann took three wickets conceding only 13 runs in four overs.
Earlier England captain Stuart Broad won toss and elected to bowl first. The decision paid dividends as Pakistani batting failed to impress.
Shoaib Malik top scored for Pakistan with 39 runs. His partnership of 71 runs with skipper Misbah-ul Haq (26*) for the sixth wicket proved crucial as Pakistan reached a respectable total of 144 runs.
England on Tuesday completed a 4-0 rout over the Pakistanis, and showed a big improvement from their 3-0 defeat in the preceding three-Test series.
Misbah wants his side to regain the upper hand, but also wants to use the match as a stepping stone towards the World Twenty20 series later this year.
Brief Score: Pakistan 144 for 6 (Shoaib Malik 39, Misbah-ul Haq 26*; Graeme Swann 3 for 13) vs England
