India lost opener Gautam Gambhir early for 17 runs as the opener was run out in the third over in the Super Eights clash against Australia at Colombo on Friday.
Gambhir opened the batting along with all-rounder Irfan Pathan as Virender Sehwag was left out of the Indian team.
Earlier Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat. The comprehensive victory against England and Harbhajan Singh's brilliant comeback has will have given confidence to the Indian team ahead of the clash against George Bailey's men who have looked good in both their group league matches against Ireland and West Indies respectively.
