Cuttack: Apr 23, 2012
Deccan Chargers’ (DC) batsman Cameron White expressed that his side was 20 runs short after their IPL 2012 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which they lost by five wickets on Sunday night at Cuttack.
“We were probably 20 runs short with the bat. It wasn’t an easy wicket, but definitely not a 127 wicket. That was the start of it, and then when they were chasing it, they were under no real pressure to go after the bowling,” White said.
The Australian cricketer acknowledged that the Knight Riders bowled well in their league clash. “Well, I think it was a pretty good wicket. KKR bowled nicely and it was a little difficult to score. It was by no means a bad wicket. 150 was more the appropriate score,” he said.
However, White praised the Deccan Chargers bowlers.
“Dale Steyn was fantastic again, and everyone contributed and chipped in. Young Veer bowled well again. Our spinners were good as well – Mishy (Amit Mishra) and Ankit (Sharma).
White expressed that his side needs motivation, adding that they are trying their best.
“We’ve got every need to be motivated; we’re still trying our best to get our first win. Obviously, there are a few areas we need to improve. It’s about practicing hard, trying to improve, and hopefully, that goes a long way in helping us win our first game,” he was quoted as saying by IPLT20.com.
