Wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik is proud to be associated with Mumbai Indians (MI), a side he considers a dream team with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh featuring in the team.
Karthik was quoted in Mumbai Indians website as saying, “Playing with Mumbai Indians feels like playing with a dream team. Then of course, we have Sachin amongst us. You’re never short on inspiration."
The cricketer was transferred to MI from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ahead of the 2012 season as KXIP could not utilise his skills to the maximum in presence of Australian veteran Adam Gilchrist, who is well-renowned wicket-keeper.
Karthik, who has had a good domestic season says he is looking forward to have a great IPL season. “I am in good nick. Moreover, I have always done well in IPL and hope to do well this season too,” said Karthik.
The cricketer feels it’s an honour to play for the Mumbai franchise.
He said, "It’s a great honour to play for Mumbai and I'm thankful to the team management for showing faith in me. This is going to be an exciting season for Mumbai and we all are eager to give our best for the team. “
Winning the coveted IPL Trophy remains a dream for Karthik, who has played for Delhi Daredevils (DD) and KXIP earlier.
“I've always dreamt of winning an IPL title but never had the opportunity to be a part of a victorious side so far,” he said. “We have a balanced side and with the inclusion of some new faces like Richard Levi, Mithcell Johnson, Thisara Perera, Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh the team looks stronger.”
