Chennai Super Kings reach 160 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs against Deccan Chargers in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match at Chennai on Friday.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Chennai got off to a shaky start losing opener Murali Vijay in the third over.
Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis then joined forces as they took the battle to Deccan.
The duo stitched a 64-run partnership as the home team looked set a huge total.
But against the run of play, Amit Mishra had Raina caught as the left-hander perished playing a shot to many.
Thirty run later, VP Singh struck to send back dangerman Du Plessis eight short of his half-century.
Abhishek JhunJhunwala then had Albie Morkel bowled as the South African tried to up the run-rate.
MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja then added 18 runs before the duo departed in the successive overs.
Veer Pratap Singh was the pick of the Deccan bowlers with figures of 2 for 35
