Chennai Super Kings reach 160 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs against Deccan Chargers in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match at Chennai on Friday.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Chennai got off to a shaky start losing opener Murali Vijay in the third over.

Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis then joined forces as they took the battle to Deccan.

The duo stitched a 64-run partnership as the home team looked set a huge total.

But against the run of play, Amit Mishra had Raina caught as the left-hander perished playing a shot to many.

Thirty run later, VP Singh struck to send back dangerman Du Plessis eight short of his half-century.

Abhishek JhunJhunwala then had Albie Morkel bowled as the South African tried to up the run-rate.

MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja then added 18 runs before the duo departed in the successive overs.

Veer Pratap Singh was the pick of the Deccan bowlers with figures of 2 for 35

Brief Scores: CSK 160 for 6 in 20 overs (Faf du Plessis 42, Suresh Raina 34; VP Singh 2 for 34, Abishek JhunJhunwala 1 for 13) vs DC
