Deccan Chargers (DC) have reached score of 186 runs for the loss of four wickets against the Pune Warriors India (PWI) in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 at Cuttack.
Captain Kumar Sangakkara together with Cameron White put on a massive 157 run-partnership which powered Deccan Chargers (DC) to a challenging total.
Deccan Chargers (DC) got off a disastrous start as opener Parthiv Patel was dismissed off the first ball of the innings.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave another blow to Deccan as he got rid of Shikhar Dhawan whose stumps were rattled in the fifth over. He made only 13 runs.
Pune bowlers bowled economically and were well supported by the fielders. But Sangakkara along with White consolidated home team’s innings as they put on a 157-run partnership for the third wicket.
They stepped on the accelerator in last five overs to propel the team to a competitive total. Sangakkara top scored with 82 runs while White scored 74 runs as both players were dismissed in the last two overs.
Earlier, Deccan’s returning captain Sangakkara had elected to bat after winning the toss.
