Chennai restrict Kolkata Knight Riders for a 158 for six in their allotted 20 overs in their IPL 2012 match at Kolkata
Put into bat, openers gave Kolkata a solid start as Gautam Gambhir and Brendon McCullum took the attack to the Chennai bowlers.
The duo put on a partnership of 99 of 90 balls as KKR looked set for a big score.
But against the run of flow, a terrible mix up saw McCullum depart to hand Chennai their first wicket.
MuCullum’s departure saw, Chennai claw back into the match with the all important wicket of Gambhir.
Shahdab Jakati got one to slip one through Gambhir’s defence to have his stumps castled.
Chennai bowlers then bowled a disciplined line as KKR kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Yusuf Pathan and Debabrata Das tried to up the momentum but in the process the former perished playing a shot to many.
Jakati was the pick of the Chennai bowlers with figures of 2 for 26.
