Royal Challengers Bangalore set a 159-run target against Kings XI Punjab after Chris Gayle clobbered 71 and Virat Kohli scored 45 in their IPL 2012 match at Bangalore on Wednesday.
Gayle and Kohli added 119 runs for the second wicket after their side lost Mayank Agarwal early in the innings.
Gayle slammed four sixes and six boundaries during his knock of 72, which came from 45 balls.
Kohli missed on a half-century when he fell for 45 off 42 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes.
Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Azhar Mahmood took three wickets for 20 runs from his four-over spell.
