Hashim Amla revealed that he avoided playing in Indian Premier League (IPL) as he believes the T20 league spread things which are forbidden in Islam.
According to a report in cricketmagazine.net, the South African decided against playing in the IPL due to the inclusion of the cheerleaders.
The 29-year-old is also paying a monthly fine of $500 for not abiding to the sponsors rule of Cricket South Africa (CSA).
CSA has contracted with alcoholic company, in result they put their logo on the shirts of the team.
Amla and Wayne Parnell are not allowing the logo on their shirt.
The top order batsman said that alcohol is forbidden in Islam so he will never allow the logo on his shirt.
