India Women won the the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Twenty20 final by 18 runs beating Pakistan Women with a well balanced bowling effort at Guangzhou.
Archana Das and Nagarajan Niranjana picked up two wickets each and Shubhalakshmi Sharma, Ekta Bisht, Reema Malhotra and Anuja Patil picked up one wicket each.
Poonam Raut was declared Player of the Match for her contribution with the bat.
Mithali raj, who wasn’t part of the playing XI, said, “So happy for the girls even though I'm disappointed not to have played because of my ankle. Winning this Asia Cup is a great achievement and what's been special is how our team has become like a family over the years, everyone contributes and plays for each other.”
Bismah Mahroof was the top scorer for Pakistan, scoring only 18 runs.
India went on losing wickets at regular interval.
