Rest of India set a massive 507-run target for Mumbai to win the Irani Trophy after declaring their second innings at 389 for five before lunch.
Mumbai openers Wasim Jaffer (20 not out) and Aditya Tare (10 not out) played out 10 overs before lunch and took the score to 31 for no loss.
Baroda skipper Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten for the Rest on 156 off 289 balls. His knock included 12 fours and four sixes.
Rest of India lost the wicket of Suresh Raina (71) in the morning session as they took the first drinks break at 378 for five. Raina charged down the ground trying to hit spinner Vishal Dabholkar over the top, but found the leading edge that carried to Ajinkya Rahane at short third-man.
Rayudu was joined in the middle by Wriddhiman Saha and the duo scored at a brisk rate of a run-a-ball before declaring.
