South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis completed 13,000 runs in Test cricket when he reached 20 against New Zealand on the first day of the first Test at Cape Town on Wednesday.
He became the first South Africana and fourth overall to enter this league. Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid are the other three players who have surpassed 13,000 runs in Test cricket. With an average of 57, Kallis has the highest average amongst the four batsmen followed by Tendulkar, Dravid and Ponting.
With 44 tons, Kallis is also second in the list of highest century scorers in Test cricket after Tendulkar who has went past the three-figure mark 51 times in the longer format.
Regarded as one of the finest all-rounders ever to play the game, Kallis also has 282 wickets to his credit.
