Middle-order batsman Kevin Pietersen on Tuesday became the first England cricketer to complete 1000 runs in One-Day Internationals against India.
Pietersen achieved the feat during the second ODI of the five-match series against India at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
The stylish batsman completed the 1000-run mark against India in 25 innings in as many matches with an average of 47.61
Pietersen has scored seven half-centuries and one century against the Indians in his career so far.
The 32-year-old cricketer has played 128 ODIs for England, scoring 4,228 runs at an average of 41.86
Pietersen has overall 23 half-centuries and nine hundreds to his name.
