Azhar Mahmood picked three wickets as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday reached a score of 137 runs for the loss of six wickets against Auckland Aces in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) match on Monday.
Electing to bat first, Kolkata lost the crucial wicket of skipper Gautam Gambhir in the first over for five runs.
Manvinder Bisla then stitched a valiant partnership with Brendon McCullum as the duo added 62 runs for the second wicket.
The partnership was broken by Ronnie Hira who dismissed the opener for 38 runs.
Azhar Mahmood then dealt a double blow for Kolkata as he removed Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary in the tenth over.
Mahmood was the pick of the Auckland bowlers with three wickets conceding just 16 runs.
