India take on Australia in the first of the four Tests of the Border Gavaskar series in Chennai today. News coming in from the middle is that Australian captain Michael Clarke has won the toss and has put his team in to bat first.
The Australians had already named their playing XI two days prior to the start of the match, so no surprises there. However, India churned out a shocker when they dropped successful left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha from the team.
MS Dhoni will have two off-spinners at his disposal in Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh. Swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets a look in.
The match is being played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The pitch looks good for batting, which is why Clarke had no hesitation in making use of it before it starts to turn.
