England reached score of 277 runs for the loss of seven wickets at the close of the first session on Day Two of the fourth and final Test match at Nagpur.
India succeeding in dismissing England’s two middle-order batsmen but Joe Root’s gritty half-century helped resurrect visitors.
Ravichandran Ashwin gave the first breakthrough as he removed Matt Prior (57), who looked in good touch. Ishant followed soon with another dismissal of Tim Bresnan reducing England to 242 for 7.
Root compiled a gritty half-century to resurrect the visitors. He scored unbeaten 65 runs at the close of the first session.
