New Zealand reach 108 for three at lunch against India on day one of the second Test at Bengaluru on Friday.

New Zealand after electing to bat, lost opener Brendon McCullum, when Zaheer Khan had him caught plumb in front of the wicket in the second over of the day.

Guptill and Kane Williamson then rallied as they got down to stabilising the Kiwi innings. The duo added 63 runs for the second wicket.

Just when the two looked to have got into the grove, Pragyan Ojha struck to dismiss Williamson for 17. The left-arm spinner had the Kiwi caught front of the wicket.

Captain Ross Taylor then joined Guptill as they looked to take the attack to the India bowlers.

Guptill seem to have played a shot to many as he played one form Ojha only to be caught by Gautam Gambhir.

Taylor and Flynn held fort as the Kiwis managed to play out the first session without further damage.

Brief Scores: New Zealand 108 for 3 (Martin Guptill 53, Ross Taylor 27*; Pragyan Ojha 2 for 24, Zaheer Khan 1 for 33) vs India
