Sunil Narine (c) claimed three wickets off his four overs

Centurion: Oct 13, 2012

Delhi Daredevils set a competitive target of 161 against Kolkata Knight Riders in their Champions League T20 match at Centurion on Saturday.

Unmukt Chand scored a quick 40 and Ross Taylor garnered 36 to lift Delhi to 160 for eight.

After being asked to bat first, Delhi made a cautious start, but lost their way in the middle.

Openers Mahela Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag added 36 runs for the first wicket, and it was Sunil Narine who provided the IPL 5 champions Kolkata the first breakthrough.

Narine cleaned up Jayawardene for 21, which came from 19 balls and four boundaries.

Indian cricketer Sehwag departed soon, falling to Pradeep Sangwan in the ninth over, after scoring 22 off 17 deliveries.

England batsman Kevin Pietersen failed to get a big score, when he was caught by Narine off Brett Lee in the 10th over, which reduced Delhi to 64 for three.

Chand and Taylor then joined forces and added 63 runs for the fifth wicket, which helped Delhi attain a competitive total.

For KKR, Narine impressed with the figures of three for 21.

Brief Scores: Delhi Daredevils 160 for 8 in 20 overs (Unmukt Chand 40, Ross Taylor 36, Virender Sehwag 22; Sunil Narine 3 for 21, Lakshmipathy Balaji 2 for 61) vs Kolkata Knight Riders.
