England need to chase a score of 145 runs to win the first T20 international at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Earlier England captain Stuart Broad won toss and elected to bowl first. The decision paid dividends as Pakistani batting failed to impress.
Shoaib Malik top scored for Pakistan with 39 runs. His partnership of 71 runs with skipper Misbah-ul Haq (26*) for the sixth wicket proved crucial as Pakistan reached a respectable total of 144 runs.
Off spinner Graeme Swann took three wickets conceding 13 runs.
England on Tuesday completed a 4-0 rout over the Pakistanis, and showed a big improvement from their 3-0 defeat in the preceding three-Test series.
Brief Score: Pakistan 144 for 6 (Shoaib Malik 39, Misbah-ul Haq 26; Graeme Swann 3 for 13) vs England
