Ajit Agarkar and Morne Morkel shined with the ball as Delhi Daredevils managed to restrict Perth Scorchers to 121 for 5 in 20 overs in the Group B clash of Champions League T20 2012 at Cape Town on Sunday.

Shaun Marsh top-scored with 39 runs for the Australian team. He added 73 runs along with Simon Katcih for the second wicket.

Ajit Agarkar struck two quick wickets to dismiss both the set batsmen in quick succession leaving Perth at 87 for three in 14.1 overs. Agarkar ended up with impressive figures of 14 runs off four overs picking up two wickets. The Mumbai bowler was back in action as he picked up Luke Ronchi’s catch of Morne Morkel’s bowling.

Mitchell Marsh in quest of some quick runs perished as he tried to slog a slower delivery off Morne Morkel’s bowling, but eventually got his stump uprooted while he was batting on 20. Morkel followed that delivery with three more dots as the pressure mounted on the Australian side.

Earlier, after winning the toss Delhi skipper Mahela Jayawardene put Perth Scorchers to bat. Delhi Daredevils are the only Indian Premier League still in contention to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.

Brief Scores: Perth Scorchers 121 for 5 in 20 overs (Shaun Marsh 39, Simon Katich 34; Morne Morkel 3 for 19, Ajit Agarkar 2 for 14) vs Delhi Daredevils
