Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and KSCA XI qualified for the final of the Shafi Darashah All-India invitational cricket tournament by topping their respective group at the end of the league stage here Thursday.
The four-day title match will commence in Alur on Saturday.
While Mumbai CA drew with Rajasthan CA to take their tally of points to 14 and qualify for the final, KSCA XI outplayed Bangladesh 'A' by 115 runs and finished on nine, the same as KSCA Colts, but progressed to the title round on better wicket-rate.
In Alur, K. Gowtham took six for 49 for KSCA XI who bundled out Bangladesh for 214, well short of the victory target and picked up five points that took them to the top of the group.
At the Gangothri Glades grounds here, Mumbai CA carried on from their overnight score of 445 for six and were all out for 640 with Neelakant (110 not out) becoming the fourth batsman in the innings to score a century after Swapnil Salvi (124), Kausubha Pawar (164) and Hiken Shah (105). Rajasthan were 121 for two in their second innings.
At the SJCE grounds, Karun Nair slammed 111 (168) as KSCA President's XI drew with Hyderabad CA. Also helping themselves to useful runs were Kunal Kapoor (88) and Robin Uthappa (61 not out) as the hosts, trailing by 307 runs on the first innings, ended on 298 for five.
In Bangalore, KSCA Colts drew with Baroda CA in a match severely affected by rains and bad light with the visitors unable to complete their first innings. The Colts had made 279 for nine and Baroda were 144 for 4 at which stage the match was abandoned due to failing light.
In Alur: KSCA XI 284 all out and 284 for 7 decl. beat Bangladesh 'A' 214 all out and 199 all out in 58.4 overs (Md Imrul Kayes 45, Md Nayeem Islam 88, K Gowtham 6/49) by 115 runs.
In Bangalore: KSCA Colts 279 for 9 decl drew with Baroda CA 144 for 4 in 39.2 overs (Aditya Waghmode 52, Ambati Rayudu 37 not out, Sunil N Raju 2/39).
In Mysore: KSCA President's XI 278 all out and 298 for 5 in 85 overs (Karun Nair 111, Kunal Kapoor 88, Robin Uthappa 61 not out, Ashish Reddy 2/33, M Hasan 2/92) drew with Hyderabad CA 585 all out in 157.5 overs.
Rajasthan CA 277 all out and 121 for 2 in 39 overs (Vineet Szena 46, Vaibhav Deshpande 51) drew with Mumbai CA 640 all out in 166.5 overs (Swapnil Salvi 124, Kaustubha Pawar 164, Hiken Shah 105, Neelakant 110 not out, Deepak Chahar 3/113, Raman Chahar 5/108, Gagandeep Singh 2/158). (IANS)
