Tamil Nadu, on Friday, submitted before the Madras High Court that it had complied with the court's order on permitting use of three sealed stands at M A Chidambaram stadium here for the December 30 India-Pakistan ODI cricket match.
The submission was made in response to a contempt petition filed by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
Following the submission, a vacation bench, comprising Justices K Venkataraman and K B K Vasuki, closed the contempt petition which alleged that the Chennai Corporation Commissioner had wilfully disobeyed the court order and sought to punish the official.
On December 17, the court had ordered authorities to permit the TNCA to use the three stands I, J and K for the match and directed the association to indemnify the authorities from any claim that may arise pursuant to the use of the three stands, which were sealed earlier on the ground that their construction was "unauthorised".
When the matter came up for hearing on Friday, government counsel S Venkatesh produced the proceedings of Chennai Corporation about the unsealing of the three stands.
The bench said that the Corporation of Chennai should cooperate with the association.
